I think we all know now that sugar is not so good for our bodies, especially highly processed sugar, which is added to just about everything we eat. Getting yourself off of sugar, to live a healthier life is much easier said than done, but of course this doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try and make a best efforts. We came across this great article written by Suzy Strutter over at The Huffington Post who shared with readers her experiences with ditching the sweet. It’s interesting to read from the perspective that it helps to quantify just what we should all be doing for our diets, but also gives a little perspective on how to balance our sugar intake. As with everything in many ways, its about moderation.
Here’s a choice quote from the article, “Of course, a little syrup on your pancakes every now and then won’t hurt. But most of us don’t realize that food companies sneak sugar into everything they can, from salad dressing to pasta sauce. Even a healthy-sounding Clif Bar has 22 grams of sugar, much of it in the form of healthy-sounding “organic brown rice syrup.”
