If you followed and read one of our earlier posts than you know how we feel about Vani Hari and her efforts to be an activist and reform our food by way of her Food Babe blog. Well, a team of individuals have joined together and have published a full rebuttal to her assault on science and reason.
The title of the book itself is absolutely spot on, Fear Babe: Shattering Vani Hari’s House of Lies and should give cause for anyone to read it, although lets be honest, if you’re in agreement with our earlier assessment you probably already know to ignore Hari.
Yes, Hari is selling fear and to monetize it she is pushing whatever products companies are willing to give her a cut of sales from, this should hardly be a surprise. The more damning accusation is that many of these products still have the “toxins”, chemicals and additives Hari is crusading against, proving exactly how awful or simply ignorant she is. Clearly she should not be trusted for any health advice, period.
We haven’t read the book just yet but know it will probably be a fairly good send up and maybe deflate some of the air in Vani Hari’s balloon.
A warm round of applause to Marc Draco, Kavin Senapathy and Mark Alsip who all jointly authored the book. Biz Journals reported on the topic at greater length if anyone is interested.
